A Note from the CEO
Andrew Conway
Group CEO - IPA Group
Our centenary provides us with an opportunity to celebrate the successes of our organisation and to look to the future with great optimism.
Since 1923, our Institute has served the public interest and to protect and resource the very essence of our profession – trust.
Our repositioning to the Institute of Public Accountants and developing the IPA Group has been the culmination of the previous century. Working to secure recognition, respect, and resonance. Our organisation is now more recognised, more respected and we speak with the voices of more than 50,000 members and students. Put simply we have impact, and we are proud of our collective achievements.
As we look to the next century, we have so many exciting opportunities such as sustainability reporting, technological transformation and building new and exciting educational pathways into our profession. Putting people at the centre of our work as a professional body is fundamental to building a strong and vibrant professional community that will continue to grow and have influence on the quality of life of our members and those you
interact with.

One IPA Membership Gains you Access to Many Prospects
I am much honored to be the Divisional General Manager of the Institute of Public
Accountants Australia (IPA) Hong Kong Branch for the past 8 years. Throughout these years the growing demand of accounting and financial professionals in Hong Kong and the China markets is phenomenal. That also explains the growing demands of professional academic institutions for continuous education of these professionals.
At IPA, besides providing members with the professional status as one of three professional accounting bodies recognized in Australian legislation, alongside the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) and CPA Australia. Here in Hong Kong, we also provide our members with carefully articulated programs, the opportunities to connect with other financial professionals through our many academic luncheon forums and members’ dinner gatherings, where members of various industries shall get to know and learn from each other. This precious connection is as valuable as their professional titles, as good social connections shall lead to more prospects and opportunities.
The implementation of Global Talent Independent Program (GTI) by the Australian
Government also creates opportunities for our IPA members who seek for migration to Australia. A Full Member of IPA (MIPA) is qualified for joining this program. IPA Hong Kong Office is readily prepared to assist our members in the application process.
